Experience Pura Vida at This Luxe Costa Rican Getaway

August 12, 2025

Want a hotel with sweeping panoramic views of the ocean and a lush green rainforest? How about a white-faced Capuchin monkey hanging from a tree near your balcony? Fewer crowds? No children?

The luxe Hotel Three Sixty in Ojochal, along Costa Rica’s less touristy and more remote section of the Pacific coast, is the ideal place to disconnect from your everyday grind, reconnect with nature, and experience pura vida. It was the getaway I didn’t realize I needed.

No Bad Views

This boutique hotel has 12 villas (starting at $373 a night), each with 516 square feet of living space and a 130 square-foot private balcony with rainforest and partial ocean views. Premium sunrise and sunset villas (starting at $560 a night) have 200-degree ocean views and al fresco room service on the balcony.

If you love sleeping to the sounds of the rainforest at home (I know I do), then, you’ll get the real thing here by leaving your screened balcony door open. (Or enjoy the air conditioning, no judgment). You can also partake in morning yoga or a massage in the onsite spa, surrounded by the rainforest’s lush green. In the evening, sipping a cocktail at the rooftop infinity pool, Bar 360, or in the eclectic global restaurant Kua Kua provides stunning views of sunsets on the Pacific Ocean.

Find Your Flock

Hotel Three Sixty has partnered with Swarovski Optik, the high-performance optics brand, to ensure guests get the best views. A four-night stay in a premium villa means taking home a pair of CL Curio Swarovski Optik binoculars, a guide to Ojochal’s most spotted birds, and transportation to the privately conserved Swarovski Optik Rainforest. So when a strikingly blue Baird’s trogon keeps its distance in the tree canopy, you can get a closer look with binoculars. Costa Rica has over 900 colorful species waiting to be spotted by birders.

Leave Without Making a Mess of Things

It’s nice when you can stay somewhere and leave it better than when you arrived. Hotel Three Sixty works with One Tree Planted to plant a tree for each night booked directly. As part of its conservation efforts, the hotel protects the forest surrounding their property. The forest has hiking trails for exploring, birding, or getting a photo (but don’t touch) of those colorful poisonous dart frogs. That commitment to sustainability is backed by the Costa Rican Tourism Board’s Certification for Tourism program, which requires members to follow rules for caring for the environment and community. The hotel is designed to minimize the impact on the forest surrounding them, using environmentally friendly materials and solar and wind power.

The immersive luxury at Hotel Three Sixty just might ruin your expectations of future vacations, but it will be worth it.
